Story Walks will offer a taste of the Land Journey to a wider public. These walks will be over half a day and will visit one of the archaeological sites visited during Tales of the Forgotten North’s story creation. Lead by storytellers from A Bit Crack the walks will include archaeological knowledge, local history and folklore and will invite walkers to share their interpretation of the land with others.
Booking is essential. Story Walks cost £5 per person.

Simonside Hills, Rothbury
We will be walking from Whittondean to Lordenshaws and up to the Beacon on Simonside. Storyteller Malcolm Green will be telling stories that weave in and out of both the archaeology and natural history of this extraordinary place. He will be accompanied by James Gillespie who will accompany the walk with Northumbrian songs and tunes on the fiddle.
We will be meeting at the Whittondean Car park at the bottom of Lordenshaws at 2pm.
Travel over the river, South of Rothbury to the village of Whitton. Here turn right along a track (the Hillhead Road) and travel for about one mile and turn off down a small track to the Whittondean carpark.

Walk along the Tarset Burn to dream the mysteries of this amazing place through its stories.
Participants to meet at 2pm at the Black Midden Bastle Car Park, 3-4 mile North of Greenhaugh on the road to Comb.
