Last week we had a fabulous open night at the monthly A Bit Crack storytelling evening. Themed ‘Summer Love’, we heard a fabulous collection of stories from a local Northumberland folk tale to stories from Canada, Japan and worlds beyond! There was also a lovely mix of the ancient traditional tales, tales of love, loyalty and heartbreak as well as heart-warming personal stories. It’s fascinating how a story can contain both unique gems from a culture, place or time and yet is universal in it’s ability to speak to our human experiences. Thank you all for your contributions and thank you to those of you who bravely told a story for the first time.
Next month will be another open evening, another chance to dust off an old story or discover a new one, we would love to hear it! As always, it will be the first Friday of the month; 3rd August, 7:30pm at the Cobalt. All welcome, whether you are coming to listen or to tell.
