Inger Lise Oelrich will host an evening exploring the role stories and storytelling can play in fostering peace in a wide variety of life situations. She will also share some of the themes and exercises from her recently published book ‘The New Story – Storytelling as a Pathway to Peace’.
Inger Lise is a theatre director and storyteller. She founded the Alba Peace Project in 2009, which investigates the special competencies of a storyteller in peace-making. She was involved as a ‘hakawatiya’ (storyteller) in dialogue meetings between different factions after Iraq became a democracy. In 2014 she became chair of the ‘Storytelling and Peace Council’, a gathering of storytellers from 16 different countries across Europe.
