Seabirds, stories and songs with Malcolm Green & Tim Dalling
You are warmly invited to a cosy, candlelit night of storytelling in the beautiful room at Burnlaw.
Shearwater is a performance of stories and music that is both a poetic and a scientific evocation of seabirds. It highlights the wonder of seabirds and threats to their populations; combining folktale, natural history and personal life-stories to create a single piece embroidered with Hebridean, Icelandic and Siberian music. It is collaboration between Tim Dalling and Malcolm Green.
“a curious blend of photo-documentary, autobiography, romantic quest and Nordic saga with nary a dull moment, delivered with great verve and wit by these two poetic champions…What comes across so vividly is their passion for and wonderment at the British wilds and at seabirds from the majestic Manx Shearwater to the fattest puffiest puffin. Their presence is brilliantly evoked through the senses – you can almost feel wings beating in your face, smell the salt spray and hear the sea crashing against the rocks.” The Bristol Review.
